The love he has for his city is evidenced through his involvement in the community.

"There is no greater level of success than that of building a solid family structure. Our world can be no healthier than the families that exist in it."

Alvernis L. Johnson was born April 22, 1967 in Louisville, MS.  At the tender age of three, he already knew that preaching the gospel and helping others was exactly what he wanted to do.  By the time he was six years old, Alvernis was flowing in his gift and speaking before large audiences.  He was just fifteen years old when the late Bishop Willie Leroy Harris of the Church of God in Christ licensed him to preach the gospel on July 2, 1982 at the Saint Paul Church of God in Christ in Detroit, MI.  Today, more than 30 years later, and now a world class leader, this mighty man of God continues to proclaim salvation, healing, and deliverance to countless individuals through the global multimedia outreach of ALJ Ministries, Inc.

"Ministry is not just about God it's about the people that God loves. When we minister to those who are in need we touch the heart God and that is what authenticates our ministry."

Alvernis was born and raised in a Christian home and has enjoyed a very extensive tenure in ministry. By the time he was six years old, Alvernis was ministering the word of God and speaking before large audiences. At the age of 15, in the year 1982, Alvernis was licensed and ordained to preach in the Church of God In Christ.  He began conducting state-wide revivals in 1984.  Alvernis was elevated and served in the position of Youth Pastor 1985 -1989 at St. Paul C.O.G.I.C. located in Detroit, Michigan.  In 1989, he became a Lay Minister at Perfecting Church under the guidance of Pastor Marvin L. Winans.  Bishop Johnson served as Senior Pastor from 1992 – 1994 at Rhema Christian Assembly.  From 1994 -1999, he served Life Line Christian Center as a Staff Pastor.  In 1999, Bishop Johnson became the Senior and Founding Pastor of Kingdom Life Ministries International, which is one church with two locations, in Saginaw and Flint, Michigan.  In 2006, he was consecrated to the office of Bishop in the Lord’s church.

His message transcends far beyond the four walls of the church and touches the community at large.
