"There is no greater level of success than that of building a solid family structure. Our world can be no healthier than the families that exist in it."

Alvernis L. Johnson was born April 22, 1967 in Louisville, MS.  At the tender age of three, he already knew that preaching the gospel and helping others was exactly what he wanted to do.  By the time he was six years old, Alvernis was flowing in his gift and speaking before large audiences.  He was just fifteen years old when the late Bishop Willie Leroy Harris of the Church of God in Christ licensed him to preach the gospel on July 2, 1982 at the Saint Paul Church of God in Christ in Detroit, MI.  Today, more than 30 years later, and now a world class leader, this mighty man of God continues to proclaim salvation, healing, and deliverance to countless individuals through the global multimedia outreach of ALJ Ministries, Inc.

Alvernis is proud resident of Saginaw Michigan. The love he has for his city is evidenced through his involvement in the community. Alvernis serves on several boards including First Ward Community Services, The City of Light Community Development Corporation, Saginaw Leadership Cares Foundation, The Church of Saginaw, and is member of the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce.  Alvernis’ involvement with these and other organizations earned him numerous honors throughout his distinguished career; Among the many awards are, The Mayor’s Beacon of Light Award, The Martin Luther King’s Man of The Year Award, Saginaw 1,000 Leaders Recognition, and one of the most memorable moments was in 2005 when Alvernis received the Key to The City of Saginaw, Michigan. His passion to help others reach their full potential led him to establish the Millionaire Mindset Mentorship and the Mind Change Institute, both of which are dedicated to improving the quality of life and positively contributing to the overall human experience.

Alvernis is a phenomenal family man and believes that building a strong family unit is his greatest accomplishment. He is happily married to the love of his life, Shantell Nicole. Alvernis speaks fondly of his wife of over 18 years and can be heard frequently during his sermons praising her virtues and grace. He also credits his wife for being a wonderful mother to their daughters, Ana and Siera who at the time of this writing are both teenagers. Alvernis Johnson loves spending time with his wife and children.  He also enjoys fishing, and horseback riding.
